Online Activities
Each week, you will have a myriad of readings, videos, short lectures, workshops, practice exercises, quizzes, and the like to help reinforce what we're learning throughout the course. Each of these modules can be accessed by clicking the correct Week from the "Online Activities" tab.

In general, each of these pages will link to any materials you're meant to complete that week. Any work that requires a formal submission is listed with its due date on the Course Calendar. As always, if for whatever reason Slack loses or does not process a submission, please email me a back up ASAP, and if you have any questions about any of the activities, let me know!

All online activities and Slack discussions go toward your Community Presence grade for the course, and will populate Mondays at noon. In general, all module work is due the following Sunday by 11:59 PM EST.
Community Presence
Especially as an online class, we must maintain some sort of presence within the classroom community. For this course, that results in a combination of both the online modules and our shared Slack channel. As a general rule, I should see your name often enough in Slack to recognize it for this part of your course grade, and all assignments should be submitted on time.

Overall, your Community Presence score is worth 150 points, or 15% of your final grade. Each week, you can earn up to 10 points by submitting the online module work and participating in Slack discussions; completing all online activities and contributing at least 1 new post and 2 responses will earn you the full 10/10 points each week; completing the activities but not participating in the Slack discussion, or vice versa, earns you 7/10 points that week. Finally, completing some, but not all of the module, and/or only posting and/or responding (or only posting insubstantial contributions and responses) will earn 5/10 points for that week.
Finally, you always have more negotiating power if you turn in late work than if I never see it; if you ever miss a deadline, please submit your work anyway. While the decision is always left to my discretion, I may be able to award partial points, especially if you've generally submitted your work on time previously.
