Annotations
One of the ways digital writing expands our means of communication is through its ability to allow one to annotate, or leave marginal notes, on different forms of writing on the web. This activity, then, lets you get some practice using an online annotation tool for these purposes.

The video to the right walks through how to sign up for an account and begin using the online annotation tool Hypothesis.

Using this tool and our course materials, please complete the following:
-
Make a Hypothesis (https://web.hypothes.is) account and install the annotations tool as an extension for Google Chrome. Note: If you have a different online annotations tool, feel free to use it, so long as you have a means to send me your annotations.
-
Once you've installed the extension, choose any of the websites or platforms available to you for this course. This could be our eClass page, any of the course readings so far, or any page on the website.
-
Using the annotations tool, leave 3-5 notes on your chosen page. These could be questions you have about the information provided, reactions to different points or images used on a particular page; basically, just give me a couple notes about your thoughts. The goal here is to get you comfortable using the annotations tool.
-
Once you've completed your annotations, send me the link via Slack. If you have any problems getting things set up or aren't sure how to use the tool, please let me know and we can set up a Zoom meeting for a walk through.
